Adult cats are often overlooked in shelters due to adopters being more interested in kittens, but there can be many reasons to adopt an older cat. Their personalities are already established so you can choose the right fit for your family, whether that is a more energetic cat for young children or one who prefers a more relaxed environment. They are calmer than kittens so you can spend more time bonding and relaxing with your new companion, whereas kittens require much more supervision and training. With this, adult cats typically have better litter box manners than younger cats.
